Genia Boustany

Genia Boustany , serves as a Director at the Poseidonia Beach Hotel in Limassol, Cyprus. Since early 2022, she has been shifting the hotel to a circular operating model.

Her academic background combines audiovisual studies at Université Saint-Joseph with further specialization in Spain, culminating in a Master's degree in Economics and Business Direction from London. She has furthered her expertise with Hospitality Management from Cornell University, a certification in Circular Economy from the University of Cambridge and the GSTC.

In her role at Poseidonia, Boustany emphasizes sustainability as an ongoing journey and a responsibility. She has implemented a holistic strategy that includes forming a dedicated Green Committee of "Green Ambassadors," staff training, carbon footprint monitoring, water conservation measures, and waste management systems .The hotel's efforts have been recognized with several sustainable awards since 2023, positioning it as one of the leaders in the field.

Beyond operations, she participates in industry panels on sustainable tourism and organizes community-focused eco-events. Her last participation in “Towards a Zero Single Use Plastic Hotel” with Beyond Plastic Mediterranean brought Poseidonia and Cyprus wider recognition in the region.
